Today I did +1.49% during London hours, -.49% in abnormal hours, and -.15% during normal hours. No video again today, I’m tired and need to get away from the computer.

Trades for 4-29-09

Today went well, I did +.50% during London hours, +.53% in abnormal hours, and +.38% during normal hours. I didn’t trade the Fed decision, spreads were too big for me and there wasn’t the kind of movement I saw last month.

I didn't feel like making a video today. However, I did start a poll (right) asking if you watch my trading videos. I'll either end the poll on 5-1-09 or 5-8-09, and decide if I'm going to continue making trading videos.

Trades for 4-24-09, and weekly total

My total for the week in forex is -14.30%, and +.78% in stocks

I totally forgot to take screenshots and make my Friday post yesterday. Friday’s numbers were sad, I did -8.14% in forex and had no trades in stocks. What happened was I broke my “be cautious on Fridays” rule which caused me to make a couple of losses. Then I went into amateur mode making things worse by “I can make it back” thoughts.

I don’t have anything for the Friday post, so I’ll just give you what I’ve learned this week. I learned that I need to be able to adjust more too changing conditions, and I’m too strict with my rules. I need to view my rules more like guidelines instead so I am able to adjust my trading when needed. I’d have to say that it is my #1 weakness in trading, but at least I know what it is and can address it.

My other weakness (which is a close #2) is I’m way too hard on myself which in turn hurts my trading confidence after awhile. I’ll be doing good for a few weeks, then have like two .50% losses in a row. When that happens I get too hard on myself which makes my confidence go down. Then I start to miss gains which pushes my confidence lower, and then I pull bonehead moves like I did Friday.

Trades for 4-23-09

I’m disappointed in myself today because I missed a few gainers due to being scared to make the entry. The totals for the day are -.02% during London hours, +.34% in abnormal hours, and +.32% during normal hours.

I had no stock trades today, and didn’t feel like making a trading video.

Trades for 4-22-09

Had a slight loss in forex, which was all due to a bad trade during abnormal hours. I had +.76% during London hours, -1.02% in abnormal hours, and no trades during normal hours. I wish I had not made that dumb trade because if I didn’t I would have made a nice gain today.

I also made a stock trade this morning in ford (F).

Trades for 4-21-09

Ouch, that’s pretty much all I can say about forex today. I had +.44% in London hours, +.30% during abnormal hours, and -8.25% during normal hours. My mistake was not cutting myself off after my 1st normal hours trade. I should have recognized that price was spiking too much today, and should have traded more off the 5 and 15 minute charts waiting for the bars to close before my entries.

I also made a couple trades in stocks this morning. My 1st trade was a mistake (should not have traded it), and my 2nd trade did well but I could have held on it longer.

Trades for 4-20-09

Today was an up day, but could have been better. London hours was -.19%, while abnormal hours was +.66%, and I had no trades during normal hours. The reason it could have been better was that I missed a really good short entry at about 9:45amEST.

No video today, I didn't feel like making one.

Trades for 4-17-09, and weekly total

My total for the week is +4.78% in forex, and I had no trades in stocks. This week was good, and went by really fast. It feels like I’m still in the middle of the week.

Today was boring (no trades), I stopped trading (watching charts) at noon eastern time because things were really choppy and I was getting some major lag in oanda’s charts. I’m glad I stuck with my rule of being really cautious on Fridays, because it caused me to avoid a couple of losses this morning during London hours.

For the Friday post I have a news article about the upcoming credit card crisis: http://www.cnbc.com/id/30262845

Trades for 4-10-09, and weekly total

Sorry the post is late, I almost forgot about it :).

My total for the week is +7.46% in forex, and I had no trades in stocks. Missed my weekly goal by about 1.50%, but I'm still very happy. I also had no trades in both forex and stocks today because markets were closed for the holiday.

Trades for 4-9-09

Today could have been better, London hours was +.65%, abnormal hours was 0% (missed an entry), and normal hours was +.29%. What could have made it better was if I had not missed a short entry at 8:45amMST, and if I had traded a full size on my 1st normal hours trade. I’m still happy though because of my overall gain today.

Trades for 4-8-09

I had a good day today, London hours was +1.81%, abnormal hours was +.22%, and normal hours was +.79%. I also decided that unless there is a really good trade (95% chance of being a gainer) during abnormal hours I won’t trade that timeframe.

I’d like to also thank FX for pointing out the fact that I was listing real trades as paper-trades. I have now gone back and fixed all the days that were real trades.

Trades for 4-7-09

Today I only had 2 trades during London hours, and no trades for the rest of the day. I didn’t make anymore trades because it got stuck in a rage. I am happy though because my 2 trades were good ones. I almost got faked into a long (EUR/USD) at 11:51amEST but the larger timeframes were looking like I should have waited until the 5M bar closed. I did and the 5M bar closed below resistance so no entry was made.

Trades for 4-6-09

Today I did +.92% London hours, -1.63% abnormal hours, and +1.58% normal hours. I’m starting to consider caning the abnormal hours trading because it has been an underperformer both paper and real trading. I will either can it if it is down tomorrow, or wait until the end of the week.

Trades for 4-3-09, and weekly total

My total for the week in forex is +2.68%, and 0% in stocks. This week was a learning experience, and I’m looking forward to applying what I have learned on Monday.

Today was -2.25%, and it’s needless to day that there were a few mistakes made. The biggest mistake was that I should have stopped trading after London hours (would have closed the day +1.63%). The 2nd mistake was that I should have stopped trading after my 1st normal hours trade (would have closed the day -1.10%). Today also reminded me that I like to take it easy on Fridays, or not trade at all.

I also looked to see what would happen if I trade max leverage on every trade. During the past 3 days (4-1-09 to 4-3-09) I did +.83% adjusting my sizing, but trading max leverage would have been -15.72%. I stopped at 3 days because going farther would have been useless. This data reinforced why I adjust my sizing from trade to trade.

For my Friday post I have an example of what happens when you don’t trade with stoplosses:

No trading video today, didn't have the time for it.

Trades for 4-2-09

Overall I’m happy with today, even though I could have made more money. I shouldn’t have had my stoplosses so close in my trades between 4:10am and 4:30am (on the chart), and in my last trade of the day. The total for today was +1.41%, with most of that being made during the London, and normal hours trading.
